Looking out the Window on a Winter Day
Saturday snows fall delicatley onto the spinning earth . The outter blue atmosphere is covered with low laying gray clouds . Naked trees stand sentinel watch and perch to winter birds . A milk truck rushes by on the winding road acrossed the frozen lake . Deer are hidding and feeding in the forrest of evergreens . The last few remaining oak and ash leaves dangle in west ward winds . Inside this warm house i listen to the steady gentle hiss of gas flame of the stove . On the stove a pot of fruit stews and bubbles softly . Ideas of spring start taking ghostly shape in my many winters day dreams .

Celebration of Nina Gonet On this cold day the star of David shines . An elder yiddisha lady and i take a ride to a Jewish cemetery . We are to attend an interment of another yiddiasha lady Nina Gonet . Nina Gonet was born in Austria in 1910 . 102 years later Nina is now a time capsule of world affairs , ambitions and memories . Some proceed to the future with out us . All have their allotted time .Today our Mourners Kaddish fades away to a clear blue sky . We place a hand-full of dirt on the backside of a shovel . A pine coffin lowered into the earth is a snug fitting entombment . Nina Gonet's symphony of life merges forward playing on with our blessings .
